FUNCTIONAL RELEASE CUPPING

Functional Release Cupping is an active treatment technique that combines myofascial cupping (also known as cupping therapy) with guided movement to help reduce pain, improve mobility and restore more efficient movement patterns. Unlike traditional static cupping, Functional Release Cupping encourages you to move while the cups are applied, allowing treatment to target both the soft tissues and the way your body moves.

What makes Functional Release Cupping different?

Traditional cupping is often performed with the cups left in one position while you remain still. Functional Release Cupping takes a more active approach. Once the cups are applied, you'll be guided through specific movements that are tailored to your individual movement restrictions. This allows the treatment to address not only the muscles and fascia, but also how those tissues work together during functional movement. The result is a treatment that focuses on helping you move more freely—not simply treating where you feel tight.

 

How does Functional Release Cupping work?

The gentle suction created by the cups lifts the superficial layers of soft tissue, allowing them to move more freely while you perform guided movements.

This combination of movement and myofascial cupping may help:

Will cupping leave marks?

It's common for cupping to leave temporary circular marks on the skin where the cups have been applied.

These marks are not bruises and are not an indication of tissue damage. They are a normal response to the suction created by the cups and usually fade within a few days to around a week, although this can vary from person to person.

Not everyone marks to the same extent, and the appearance of these marks doesn't indicate how effective your treatment has been.
