ASSISTED STRETCHING

Assisted stretching is a hands-on treatment technique designed to improve flexibility, increase mobility and restore comfortable movement. Unlike stretching on your own, assisted stretching allows your muscles to relax while I guide your body through controlled movements, helping you achieve a more effective stretch safely and comfortably.

At JP Bodywise, assisted stretching is one of the many techniques that may be incorporated into your remedial massage treatment following a thorough assessment.

How does assisted stretching work?

Every treatment begins with an assessment of your posture, movement, flexibility and range of motion.

Based on your assessment, I'll guide your body through specific stretches while helping your muscles remain as relaxed as possible. This allows stretches to be performed in a controlled and comfortable way while targeting the areas contributing most to your movement restrictions.

Assisted stretching is often combined with remedial massage, joint mobilisation, Functional Release Cupping or other hands-on techniques to achieve the best outcome.

Who is assisted stretching for?

Assisted stretching may be beneficial if you:

  • Feel stiff or tight

  • Have reduced flexibility

  • Experience restricted range of motion

  • Spend long hours sitting at a desk

  • Train regularly at the gym

  • Participate in sport

  • Are recovering from injury

  • Simply want to move more freely

Whether you're an athlete looking to improve performance or someone wanting to feel less stiff in everyday life, assisted stretching can help improve the way your body moves.
